The Uplands Community Hub is a community group that aims to draw together the diverse members of our fabulous corner of Stroud. We operate exclusively for charitable or community benefit purposes.
As a hub, we aim to:
Develop and promote a sense of community in Uplands
Bring together established community entities in Uplands
Support and assist in local events
Enable links to relevant support facilities in Stroud
Bring about a sense of pride in the Uplands area
Engender awareness of the importance of sustainability within Uplands
Anyone over 16 residing in Uplands who supports the aims of the Hub is considered to be part of the Hub. Everyone is welcome to:
Volunteer at events
Come to meetings and events
Run community events and ask the hub for help with publicity and hopefully grants
Offer ideas to help boost the community according to the hub’s aims
The hub has a core group that facilitates administration, communications, finance, grant applications, and working with other Stroud groups with similar aims.
The core group currently is:
Sarah Millar (Chair), Lynsey Kelleher (Treasurer and NoSH Lead), Carole Child and Charlotte Potter (Joint Secretaries), Miranda Pole, and Megan Sheer.
We welcome nominations from anyone to be a member of the Core Group. A few more people would be invaluable. Please get in touch. Join us. It’s fun!
Note: Commitments and obligations are stated in the Hub’s policies and members are responsible for reading and adhering to them.
The Uplands Community Hub runs events throughout the year including our community café which meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
